My name is Clint Maki.  I’m a local Log Home realtor in the state of Michigan, and today what I have for you is a log home on 80 acres of woods.

A log home in Michigan is special enough but this one has got a lot of things going for it. One of those things is the abundance of land that this home sits on.

This is a beautiful piece of property set up specifically for horses. It was also once used as a kid’s camp. They had kids coming from the city and ride horses here and they would show them how to do a lot of different things in the country that they had never done before.  However, kids have not visited the camp for a long time.  Now the owner wants to turn the property over to somebody who needs a piece of land in the country.

There is a trail near the property called Pike Road, which is part of the snowmobile trail system in Michigan. So you can ride the horses on it, dirt bikes, and snowmobiles, whatever you want. It’s a public property so you can ride that trail for miles and miles and miles.

You’re out in the country, so the only time you should think about buying your property like this is if you really enjoy being out in the middle of nowhere, enjoying your privacy, and being alone, because this property is definitely private. It’s at least a quarter mile off the road and you’re going to need a plow truck to get there during the winter months.

It’s pretty roomy for a log home. It has about 1400 square feet, plus an addition.  It has five bedrooms total, three bathrooms and it’s kind of unique in a lot of different ways because it has an enormous wrap around deck that overlooks the horse pasture. It’s really a cool sight to stand on that side of that deck and watch the deer play out in the fields, enjoy the countryside, and have some fun and relaxation.

 The house is also completely heated with an outdoor wood furnace. You can if you want, put a propane furnace in, however, they’ve never needed it because they’ve got 80 acres of woods with plenty of free firewood to fuel their furnace.

The barn is very unique, they used to have the kids in the camp sleep upstairs in the barn.  That being said, the upstairs of the barn is roughly finished off and could be rented out.  There is also a bathroom in the lower level that could be finished off and used.  The barn also offers ample storage space.
